Our neighborhood sits in a quiet residential pocket just southwest of downtown San Jose. The area blends Silicon Valley convenience with local charm; tree-lined streets, longtime taquerias and neighborhood cafes, and a slower pace than the downtown core. About a 10-minute walk reaches Bestor Art Park and the SoFA arts district, with the Guadalupe River Trail nearby for a morning run or bike ride. A short drive (5 to 15 minutes) reaches downtown San Jose, San Pedro Square Market, SAP Center, the Convention Center, SJSU, Kelley Park, and the Japanese Friendship Garden. For travel further out, Diridon Station serves Caltrain, Amtrak, ACE, and VTA Light Rail, and SJC airport is about 10 minutes away.

Guest Access

You'll have private access to your bedroom, with your own dedicated workspace, mini-split climate control, and coffee bar. Shared with one other guest in a separate bedroom: the full bathroom and the kitchenette. Shared with all guests on the property: the backyard with fruit trees and garden, the patio with lounge seating, the laundry room (keypad access, code in your check-in message), and street parking. Two-step entry, both via Schlage smart lock: 1. Main door: Press the Schlage logo, enter your code, then turn the handle. 2. Room door: Same process with your room-specific code. Both codes activate at 3 PM on your check-in date and expire at 11 AM on your checkout date. No keys to manage. The main house common areas are not part of your stay.

Your bedroom is fully private. The full bathroom and kitchenette are shared with one other room. The backyard, patio, and laundry room are shared with all guests on the property. Self check-in via Schlage smart locks at both the main entry and your room door - unique codes generated for the duration of your stay. Heads up: The room has lower ceilings - it may feel cozy for guests taller than 6'6" (about 2 meters).

Unsolicited visitors: For the safety and comfort of all our guests, please book the correct number of guests in your reservation. Visitors who are not on the reservation are not permitted on the property and will be considered trespassing. If your plans change and you'd like to add a guest, message us first. Parking is street-only with plenty of free spaces on Sherman St before 9 PM. Please don't block neighbor driveways. Laundry room hours: please avoid 11 AM - 3 PM (housekeeping window). Pets: please walk dogs off-property rather than in the garden, and pick up after them. We're 10 minutes from SJC, so you may hear an occasional airplane with windows open - most guests find it minor. The room has lower ceilings - it may feel cozy for guests taller than 6'6" (about 2 meters).

Driving: Street parking only - plenty of free spaces on Sherman St and nearby streets before 9 PM. Quick access to I-280, Hwy-87, and US-101 puts all of Silicon Valley within reach. Please observe posted signs and street-sweeping schedules; do not block neighbor driveways. Rideshare: Uber and Lyft arrive within 5 to 10 minutes. Set your pickup pin to the front of the house on Sherman Street. Walking: Sidewalks throughout the neighborhood. SoFA arts district and several cafes and restaurants are within a 10-minute walk. Public transit: Tamien Station is a 12-15 minute walk and serves Caltrain and VTA Light Rail. Diridon Station for Caltrain, Amtrak, ACE, and VTA Light Rail is a short rideshare or drive. VTA bus stops are within a few blocks. Bikes and scooters: E-scooters and bikeshare are typically available in the neighborhood. Bike lanes connect to downtown and the Guadalupe River Trail. EV charging: No on-site EV charger. Nearest public chargers are at downtown garages and the Convention Center.
